Tysons Express Dental Implants
Whether you’ve lost a single tooth or a complete row of teeth, dental implant supported tooth replacement may be the ideal solution to replace your lost tooth structures from the roots up. However, traditional dental implant supported tooth replacement options can take months to complete. At Avanti Dentistry, we offer express dental implants to restore your smile in significantly less time. If you want to learn more about replacing teeth with dental implants, call to schedule a tooth replacement consultation appointment with our dedicated dentistry team today.
What are Express Dental Implants?
Some dentists or dental offices advertise “teeth in a day” or “same day dental implants.” They are likely talking about an express dental implant plan, but it’s more accurate to say that these restorations are completed in significantly less time than traditional implants not necessarily in just one day. Our express dental implants allow us to replace missing teeth in as little as four weeks.
How are Express Implants Placed?
Express implants are placed just like traditional dental implant posts. We begin by completing any preparatory treatments such as tooth extraction, gum or bone grafts, and oral health renewing treatments like periodontal therapy for gum disease sufferers. This ensures the highest rate of success. Then, we surgically place the dental implant post. Once in place, the implant can take several months to fully fuse with the jawbone, but we will place a temporary restoration right away whenever possible. In a few days to a week, we’ll attach your abutment and design your dental crown, bride, or denture. We can use our in-office CEREC unit to craft a crown or bridge that will allow us to complete your restoration on the same day. For more advanced solutions, we’ll partner with a local dental lab to craft your final prosthetic.
How Many Teeth Can I Replace with Express Implants?
We can use one or more express implants to replace any number of missing teeth from a single implant supported dental crown to a full denture.
How Long do Express Implants Last?
Once in place, your dental implant supported replacement tooth or teeth can last for two decades or longer. This is compared with traditional tooth replacement solutions that need to be restored every five to ten years to ensure optimal function. With proper care, many patients are able to keep their implant supported restoration for the rest of their lives.
Do I Need to Change My Oral Hygiene Routine?
Depending on the type of dental implant supported restoration you receive, you will be able to continue your regular oral hygiene routine. To avoid excessive wear, we may recommend using a softer toothbrush or less abrasive toothpaste. For patients with more advanced restorations like partials and full dentures, we may recommend using an air or water flosser to remove plaque buildup and food particles stuck between the gums and denture.
