iTero® Scanner
The ability to accurately diagnose conditions and to exactingly plan treatments is invaluable. Advanced alternatives to conventional diagnostics, such as film-based x-rays and “goopy” manual impressions, support our ability to deliver comfortable care and effective treatment that resolves pain and other symptoms and gets results. These alternatives include iTero® digital scanning technology.
While the iTero® line of scanners is made by the same company behind Invisalign® orthodontic treatment, Align Technology, it has many applications. We may use this non-invasive and well-tolerated scanner to create 3-dimensional models of your mouth. These models may then be used to drive treatment plans and to also empower you, the patient, with clear and credible information.
Instead of just telling, we can show you what is going on with your mouth and how specific treatments will work. Back to Invisalign®, the iTero® is the powerhouse behind those virtual simulations of the treatment process. You can see how your teeth will be repositioned with Invisalign® clear aligners. The iTero® digital impressions also help to minimize the human error associated with fabricating oral appliances and dental work. These highly precise models are used to make your aligner trays.
